Santa Teresa beach, Nicoya Peninsula Location

Santa Teresa Beach is located in Southwestern tip of Nicoya Peninsula area, just next to Cabo Blanco National Park, only 45 minutes away from Malpais. There are different ways to get here:

Getting to Santa Teresa Beach by Air:

Both SANSA and NATURE AIR offer several flights daily from San Jose to Tambor.  From Tambor the hotel can arrange taxi transport for you.  Please contact the hotel prior to your flight to arrange this service.  Flight time is approximately 20 minutes to Tambor, plus 40 minutes by taxi to the hotel.  Contact Sansa at www.flysansa.com and Nature Air at www.natureair.com to check for flights.

Getting to Santa Teresa Beach by Car:

From San Jose, drive to Punterenas and take the car ferry to Paquera.  Be sure not to take the ferry to Playa Naranjo.  Once off the ferry proceed to follow the signs for Cobano and Mal Pais, passing through the town of Tambor; be sure to watch out for road signs as the route is clearly marked.  Once in Cobano drive straight through town and turn left after 1 kilometer, proceeding towards Mal Pias.  The road will have turned to dirt.  After 8 km (30 min) you will arrive at Mal Pais crossroads, turn right and the Hotel is 800 yards on your left, just after a tiny bridge.  Total driving time is approximately 3 hours plus 1 hour on the ferry.

Getting to Santa Teresa Beach by Bus:

By Bus:  Bus to Punterenas and take the Ferry or Lancha to Paquera.  You can then either continue by bus to Cobano and Mal Pais or the Hotel can arrange to pick you up at the Paquera dock or in Cobano.  Total bus time is approximately 4 hours plus 1 hour on the ferry.
